Los Angeles County, California (Long Beach, CA) – On April 18, 2022, Alfonzo Star, 60-year-old, of Lakeview Terrace, was arrested on suspicion of DUI following an accident on the Interstate 710 Freeway in Long Beach.
The Lakeview Terrace man was accused of driving while intoxicated with alcohol. Tiffany Haynes, 32-year-old, of Los Angeles, was killed at the site of the multi-vehicle crash at 1 a.m. The multi-vehicle incident happened on the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway in Long Beach near the transition to the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway.
Tiffany Haynes was operating a 2013 Toyota car when it came to a halt in the second lane of the northbound 710 Freeway. Alfonzo Star was driving a 2002 Chevrolet northward on the motorway. His car is said to have rear-ended the Toyota. Shortly after that, a motorist in a big rig truck came to a halt on the freeway’s right shoulder. The truck was also partially in the No. 3 lane, near where the Toyota had come to a stop.
Finally, a motorist in a 2018 Ford swung to the right and collided with both the Toyota and the large truck. Alfonzo Star was arrested for DUI after police discovered he was impaired. Investigators are working on the case and will establish who is to blame for the accident.
