Los Angeles County, California (Sun Valley, CA) – On May 16, 2023, an individual was killed following a Metrolink train struck a vehicle between Raymer Street and Coldwater Canyon Avenue in Sun Valley, CA.
The deadly collision occurred at 3:20 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. A motorist in what seemed to be a blue automobile was struck by an oncoming Metrolink train for unexplained reasons. The Metrolink train that caused the collision came to a halt about a quarter-mile down the tracks.
Firefighters arrived and attempted to remove the operator of the car. The unnamed victim, however, died at the site. According to Metrolink, none of the 54 people on board the train sustained any injuries. When the tragedy occurred, the train was on its way from downtown Los Angeles to Moorpark.
Investigators are unsure if the truck came to a halt between the railroad crossing gates or if the gates malfunctioned. However, officials will investigate this terrible occurrence from all perspectives to determine the exact reason. Please notify the Los Angeles Police Department if any eyewitness can assist the authorities.
