Sacramento County, California (CA) – On February 13, 2024, two children standing outside a vehicle killed one and critically injured the other on westbound HWY 50 east of 65th Street in Sacramento, CA.
According to the California Highway Patrol, it was around 4:35 p.m. when the accident occurred. A 30-year-old man driving a Ford was traveling westbound in the fast lane at an unknown speed. The man tried to slow down to avoid colliding with the Toyota, but instead ended up in the center median.
CHP reported that an 8-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl were standing in the center median. While attempting to avoid the Toyota, the Ford driver struck both children.
The boy died at the scene, while the girl was taken to hospital with severe injuries.
