Lane County, Oregon (OR) – On December 17, 2021, James Cam Johnson IV, 31-year-old, was arrested and detained in the Lane County Jail concerning a May 30, 2021 motor vehicle accident that caused a triple death.
Johnson was charged with 3 counts of second-degree manslaughter, 3 counts of third-degree assault, 3 counts of fourth-degree assault, 2 counts of criminal mischief, and 2 counts of DUII.
On Sunday, May 30, 2021, at about 10:15 A.M. OSP and emergency workers rescued a vehicle accident on Hwy 58 in milepost 27.
According to initial investigations, a Ford Taurus, driven by James Johnson, 31-year-old of Oakridge, was heading westbound, driving in a no-passing zone when it crashed with a westbound Chrysler Town and Country, driven by Michael Cary, 63-year-old of Oakridge, Taurus crashed with an eastbound Mazda 3. Three passengers in the Mazda 3 suffered critical injuries and were declared dead. A fourth passenger was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries. Cary was not taken but was later taken to hospital for treatment. Johnson was taken to the hospital.
Mazda 3 was driven by Jagadish Chandrasekaren, a 31-year-old of Washington who suffered critical injuries and was declared dead.
Passengers:
Adharsh Murali, a 25-year-old of Washington suffered serious injuries and was declared dead.
Jignesh Modi, a 27-year-old of Washington suffered critical injuries and was declared dead.
Puneeth Gattikoppula, a 24-year-old of Washington was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries.
