Kern County, California (Bakersfield, CA) – On March 8, 2022, a 17-year-old teenage boy died and his occupant was injured in a solo vehicle collision on Hall Road.
The crash occurred about 9:00 p.m. on Hall Road, east of Myrtle Road. According to authorities, the boy was in a 2014 Acura east on Hall Road. For unidentified reasons, he took a right turn and drove over a high concrete curb before colliding with a brick wall.
Before the crash, the motorist and his 17-year-old occupant were not wearing seatbelts, according to police. Medics transported the injured passenger to a hospital for further treatment. One Lamont teenager was declared dead by medics due to the severity of his injuries. The identity of the deceased victim and the wounded passenger have not been published by police.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol claim they are unsure whether drugs or alcohol played a factor in the event. However, an active inquiry is still underway.
