Merced County, California (Merced, CA) – On March 14, 2022, a woman died when she ran a stop sign and crashed into a tractor in Merced County.
About 7 a.m., Ibarra Gonzalez, 36-year-old, of Merced, was operating a 2011 Chevy Equinox with 3 kids. Deputies say she ran a stop sign and went into moving traffic at the T-intersection of Bellevue Road and Fox Road, crashing with a tractor/trailer.
According to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, Fox Road does not have a posted stop sign for people heading west. Gonzalez was killed in the incident, while three children were taken to Valley Children’s Medical Center in Madera for treatment of mild and serious injuries.
The incident is still being investigated, and drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played a role in it.
